Ms. Leach,
The city is working with our consultant to finalize the construction plans for the portion of Coppell Road from Sandy Lake to Cooper.
We have been acquiring right of way at the intersections to construct ADA accessible ramps. We are still working with three
property owners to complete this acquisition.
We have requested that the franchise utility companies (Verizon, Atmos, Oncor, etc.) relocate their utilities where they are in
conflict with the proposed street improvements. We are hopeful that they will begin relocation by the end of the year.
If things stay on schedule we should be under construction around the time school lets out in May 2008.
You are welcome to come by and get copies of the plans for your use. Please feel free to call me if I can be of any assistance.

Ken,
We live at 408 S. Coppell Rd., (between Kaye and Plantation). We have put off having a circular drive installed in part due to the
many delays in the reconstruction and also due to the elevation change proposed in the reconstruction of Coppell Rd. We now
have a son who is about to turn 16 and for safety reasons we now want to push ahead with our plans. To put in a circular drive
over the drainage ditch is cost prohibitive.
I noticed in the newspaper recently that a new design firm had been hired, the way it read was for the other half of Coppell Rd and
Bethel, but not sure if our end will be affected. I am wondering if you can give me any details on the elevation proposed, timetable
of when we will be able to see the plans and when construction is now due to begin on our section of Coppell Rd. Will the Bethel
Rd./Coppell Rd portion be completed before construction begins on the north part of S. Coppell Rd.?
Any help you can provide would be appreciated. Thanks.
