Please call me to discuss this grading behind the curb issue. I have attached some plans and a copy of the pay item description for the temporary shoring from the East Sandy Lake project for you r use. This is simply an example of how it has been done before. We also need to discuss this sewer issue. I had understood that you reached an agreement with Suzan about the sewer design. Keith Marvin, P.E. Project Engineer (972) 304-3681 >>> "Roberts, Ken" <kar@Huitt-Zollars.com> 11/21/2007 5:33 PM >>> Keith, A few more things: 1. Your typical driveway section shows the driveway approach rising 6 inches from the gutter to the edge of the sidewalk crossing. On the east side of Coppell Road this distance is 4.5 feet resulting in an 11.11% grade. Do you want to build the driveways this way or do you have a maximum percent grade you would like to use for this section of the driveway? We are getting ready to look at the cross-sections at all the driveways and streets to revise them for ADA concerns. I have attached a PDF of your detail for your reference. Let me know. 2. As far as grading between the sidewalks and right-of-way lines there are several options. One is to grade out like the current cross-sections show on private property. You would then need an easement or letter of permission to do this grading. try grading out between the sidewalk and right-of-way line and stay off of private property. This would result in steep slopes within the right-of-way. or a third option would be to construct sidewalk curbs and use flatter slopes to grade out in the right-of-way. Let me know what you prefer and we will take a look at it. 3. You made reference in your review to temporary shoring similar to the East Sandy Lake Road project. Do you have a copy of the plans that you can send us or we can pick up illustrating what you are talking about? Thanks for your help, Kenneth Roberts, PE Huitt-Zollars, Inc.
