Re: S. Coppell Rd construction
I spoke to no one but you yesterday.
As I said I expect and understand deelays and hope that extended ones don't
become the norm. I appreciate your patience. Thank you.

Ms. Lemay,
I'm sure this project will test the patience of all involved. We understand
that the folks living on and around Coppell Road will be impacted by this
project. We are sorry for they delays that you have experienced, and will
continue to experience for the duration of the project.
Please understand that when they stop traffic it is for the safety of the
traveling public, or the workers themselves. Safety is our highest priority
on this project. I have made it clear to the contractor that excessive
delays to motorists will not be tolerated.
Albert Samaniego, construction inspector for the city, tells me that he did
talk to you yesterday. If that is not the case, please let me know so I can
deal with that issue.
If you find yourself delayed beyond a few minutes please call Albert and see
if he can help you get through there. Albert's phone number is
469-576-1458.
Please feel free to continue to provide feedback to me on how this project
is impacting you.
Keith Marvin, P.E.

This is Esther Lemay, I spoke to you earlier today. Just had a little info
for you.
I left the house again at 1:30 PM and just a little past the school there is
an intersection of 4 streets. the side, the divided side with the island and
of course S. Coppell. With the two sides, 3 really, and a closed lane the
(8/18/2009) Keith Marvin - Re: S. Coppell Rd constructionPage 2
construction people decided to put together something hanging half into the
open lane and were holding up traffic so we could watch them do it. I was
fortunate to be the first car so I could see what was happening. Just as I
was thinking of calling again someone came out of the side and started
waving traffic on and telling the worker to put down the stop sign. All we
had to do was veer a tiny bit around the obstruction. They had very poor
judgement and WHY with all the other options including a closed lane was it
necessary to put this thing together half into the "open" lane. I guess we
as motorists are just obstructions to them and I am sure if they had their
druthers they would close the whole road for the duration.
Your supervisor who was going to call me never did of course. I will more
than likely call agin if needs be and hope you will be patient and also help
resolve the problem.
