Keith, I wanted to get together with you to discuss our plans for handling the intersections on Coppell Rd. Briefly, I'll try to explain our plan. We have decided that the area is too flat to lime and place HMAC at sub-grade as previously discussed. We are going to place Flex-base and HMAC to raise the surface of the temp paving and provide better runoff. Initially we will place the detour road between intersections to complete the majority of the detour. When the majority is complete we will close the intersections on the West side of Coppell Rd. That have access and detour traffic accordingly. These will be done one or two at a time and reopened the same day. Major intersections such as Ruby and Plantation will be done during off peak times. Northbound traffic and traffic from the East side of Coppell will continue to use the existing pavement as we are removing and lowering the intersections on the West side. As we open the intersections on the West side traffic from the West will begin using the new temporary detour. We will place ramps from the temporary detour to the existing pavement where needed in order to remove and replace the next intersections. We will remove one half at a time the intersections that only have one way in and one way out such as Park Lane at the trailer park and Oak (8/18/2009) Keith Marvin - Re: Coppell Rd.Page 2 Grove on the West side and Cooper and Kaye St. on the East side. The school entrances will be done on Saturday, or another day that the school is closed. I know you mentioned a day in October that school would be out, if we could get that date we may be able to use it. One by one we will get all traffic down to the temporary detour and then remove the remaining existing pavement. Please call if you have any questions or concerns and I will try to answer or meet you to discuss. Thanks Lance
