Subject: Coppell Rd. Schedule
Keith,
Please review the following schedule for performing the detour work
discussed in today's meeting.
Friday 10-17-08: Close Archer after morning rush hour to improve
temporary surface. We will place additional flex-base topped with HMAC
millings and compact to the satisfaction of the City.
Archer will be reopened in time for the afternoon rush. We will work on
dewatering the area from the south end of the project to Ruby and other
areas as required.
Saturday 10-18-08: We will prep sub-grade if the sub-grade is not too
wet from the south end of the project to Ruby. We request permission to
close Ruby half at a time to excavate and place flex-base. Ruby will be
reopened.
Monday 10-20-08: Continue sub-grade prep from the south end to Ruby. We
request permission to close the intersection at Hawken allowing traffic
to use Archer. We will prep sub-grade from Ruby to Archer and build a
temporary ramp south of Archer.

Complete placing flex-base from the south end to Ruby.
Thursday 10-23-08: We request permission to close Edinburgh allowing
traffic to use Halifax and Greenwich. We will excavate, place flex-base
and HMAC to tie in to the north end of the project. Edinburgh will be
reopened. Sub-grade prep and placing flex-base will continue from Ruby
to Archer and from Archer to Park Ln.
Friday 10-24-08: We request permission to close Halifax and Greenwich

(8/18/2009) Keith Marvin - Re: Coppell Rd. SchedulePage 3
Saturday 11-1-08: Remove North half of Oak Grove, place flex-base and
HMAC open to detour. Remove South half of Oak Grove and temporary ramp,
place flex-base and HMAC. Access will be momentarily restricted and we
will minimize the time restricted to allow normal traffic access in the
least amount of time possible. Emergency access if required will be
restored immediately.
Monday 11-3-08: Remove North Half of Park Ln, place flex-base and HMAC.
Remove temporary ramp south of Archer, place flex-base and HMAC. Access
will be momentarily restricted and we will minimize the time restricted
to allow normal traffic access in the least amount of time possible.
Emergency access if required will be restored immediately.
This will complete the tie-ins from the intersections approaching
Coppell Rd. from the West side. Traffic will continue using both
existing pavement and temporary pavement until the approaches to the
school can be switched.
Saturday 11-8-08: Detours will be set for Cooper Ln, Plantation Dr and
Halifax. All three approaches to the school and Kaye St. will be
switched to the detour road. Kaye St. will be done one half at a time
and this will require closing the existing pavement to thru traffic
while allowing only Traffic to Kaye St. from the existing pavement. All
other northbound traffic will use the temporary detour road. We will
place a CMS at the south end of Coppell Rd. to inform motorist. After
completion of the Kaye St intersection all northbound traffic will use
the detour and the existing pavement will be closed.
Monday 11-10-08: Cooper Ln, Plantation and Halifax tie-in to detour and
reopen intersections.
Weather permitting we will accelerate the work on the West side and we
may be able to begin the work at the school on Saturday 11-1-08. We will
continue to monitor our progress and update as changes take place.
