Dear Resident:
As you are aware, we are in the process of constructing new street and sidewalk in front
of your home. The change in the height of the street will result in a dramatic slope of
your new sidewalk. This change was necessary to provide proper drainage.
We are proposing the placement of steps between your entry sidewalk and the new city
sidewalk. Using steps rather than a sloping sidewalk will allow us to complete the work
faster and will result in less damage to your lawn.
If you have any questions or believe that steps will cause problems for you, please
contact one of the persons listed below to discuss alternatives. If we have not heard from
you by Friday, March 13, 2009, we will assume the steps are an acceptable alternative for
you and will proceed with the work.
