RE: Fwd: Coppell Road South
I think that wording is fine.
I got your message. I removed from the addendum the note about submitting the construction
specifications. The guy from purchasing mentioned at the end of the meeting, but I don't want to muddy
the waters.

Caleb,
Please include this in the addendum.
The city will not mandate a particular method for maintaining traffic safety through the work zone. Safety
of the traveling public is the responsibility of the contractor. All traffic control devices shall comply with the
TMUTCD.
Add any other language you think is appropriate.

Jerod,
As you know there will be approximately 1500 lf of 2’ or more cut on this project making it a traffic hazard for the
public. There could be several ways we could barricade this section of the project. We could use Concrete
Barriers, Yodock Plastic Barriers or Plastic Barrels.
We have done some research on what type of barriers to price on this project. If we have to use the Concrete
Barriers, this will be a very costly item for the City of Coppell. At this time we are not sure what the City will allow
us to use. In order for all of the contractors to have a competitive bid we need to have this issue clarified. In the
City of Coppell Standards it tells us to refer to the TMUTCD Manual. The traffic on this project is not very busy
and it will be going one way only. Possibly the City and the Engineer can come up with a solution that will be less
costly for the City and still be safe for the public.
Thank you,
Dennis
