Our study begins downstream (south) of MacArthur Blvd. and end upstream (north) of Freeport Dr. The Southwestern Blvd. bridge is on page 3 of 4. The comparison shows the 100 year water surFace elevation is reduced 0.16 ft. at the upstream face of the proposed bridge and 0.86' at the downstream face. However, the velocity increases 0.70 fps through the channel under the bridge. Please note there is a 2.04 fps increase in channel velocity on the downstream side of the bridge. Velocities returns to the existing conditions 75' downstream. Due to the increased velocities, we recommend slope protection on the north channel bank downstream of the bridge.
