Date: 5/12/2009 4:50 PM Subject: RE: Southwestern We have looked at this today and would like to meet on site to discuss. Below is an a-mail we received yesterday. Kent Moore (972-462-9590), who lives at 400 Southwestern Blvd. in Coppell, claims that a Verizon construction crew installed an underground cable about three weeks ago and failed to properly restore the grade for proper drainage. As a result, it has affecting the drainage ditch on the north side of the road, causing the front yards of some of the homes to flood when it rains. Moore said it is affecting homes between 390 Southwestern Blvd. and 450 Southwestern Blvd. He described the road as undeveloped and that there are only houses on the north side of the road. He said he has also contacted Coppell city manager Clay Phillips (972-462-0022) to complain about the poor job that Verizon did. He wants someone from Verizon to contact him to discuss the situation and to determine what can be done to restore the grade to its original condition. Can someone reach out to this customer and see what can be done to resolve the issue for him? Please let me know if you need anything else. Could you have your contractor go by there and smooth some of that out. Feel free to contact Rick O'Dell or I to discuss this. Thanks, Keith Keith Marvin, P.E. None of the culverts appear to be stopped up. A couple may need a little cleaning but nothing that was caused by Verizon. There are several places where the ditch was not graded very well and is causing "birdbaths".  I did not see any evidence of the water having to flow across Southwestern. Next time we get a good storm, I will go check the area out.   Glenn This was Glenn's first email after Kent visited the Service Center this morning:   Kent Moore was just in our office complaining about the condition of the ditches on Southwestern. According to him, Verizon did a terrible job. He claims that they left the culverts stopped up and now water is having to run across the road (?) and through his neighbors yard. He wants something done about it now. "He does not care if the road is going under construction in three days or three years, Verizon is not going to come into his town and go off and leave it like this."  He said that he was going to go talk to Clay about it also. I will go check it out and see what I can find out.   Glenn     I know we will never convince Kent that Verizon didn't change all the drainage.  So, we will look at the culverts and clean out the ones that need cleaning.   ken g >>> Clay Phillips 5/11/2009 2:09 PM >>> Any idea what Verizon did on his property and can we contact them to see if they intend to repair what they left undone? file://C:\Documents and Settings\radloo\Local Settings\Temp\XPgrpwise\4A083707City_o...8/30/2011
