Jorge,
question the response to one of Austin's questions concerning the tax status of this project. Isn't this road
going to be dedicated to the City of Coppell for future maintenance? If that is the case, is should benon-taxable.

Re: Southwestern Boulevard
Coppell, Texas

Sir,
Austin Bridge & Road has the following questions regardingthe above referenced project:
1J Has all franchise utilities been cleared? Should be completed prior to the award of
contract.
2) Will this project be taxable? Yes.
3) Have the funds for this project been placed in escrow for the city? Not to our
knowledge.
4) On Page B-1, "General Instructions to Bidders", Paragraph #2, it is stated that this is
a lump sum bid. Is the Schedule of Bid Items required with the bid just to establish
units and prices for monthly estimates? Yes
5) Will the successful contractor be able to work on both sections at the same time?
Yes.
6J Is the owner requiring an onsite field office for the inspection staff? The City
required an on-site field office for the contractor.
7) Bridge plans show RR8 Concrete Riprap, but roadway plans sheets show rock riprap
atthe Grapevine Creek Bridge. Also, the only bid item is for rock riprap. Please
clarify if there will be rock riprap or concrete riprap at this location. See Addendum
No.1 for corrections (for both).
8) Bridge plans on sheet SC1.02 show a 3" gas line to be installed by others. Will we
be required to place inserts into the bridge? "Gas" label corrected on plan need
electrical conduits on both sides of the bridge (2"electrical conduits).
9) Quantity for approach slabs in the proposal is 200 CY, but the summary sheets show
100 CY which is closer to our takeoff. Which is correct? See Addendum No.1 for
corrections.
10) Quantities for most of your items on the bid sheet do not match the summary sheet
on sheet SC1.04. See Addendum No.1 for corrections.
11) Will the bridge need to be painted? Yes. Color to be determined.
12) Will we have to groove the bridge deck per TxDOT 2004 specifications, or can we
tine the bridge deck? Groove per TxDOT 2004 Specifications.
13) Is the school zones flasher signs included in the quantity for Pay Item #19b? Yes.
14) The school zone flashers are powered by electricity. How is the relocation of the
electrical service for those signs paid? Items to be included in lump sum (no
separate items).
15) How will the temporary roadway pavement for two way traffic be paid? Items to
be included in lump sum.
16) There is no detail for a temporary driving surface shown in the plans. What will the
owner require? Asphalt pavement suitable to withstand construction and local
traffic.
17) Pay Item #8A is for 6" Class C concrete. The notes on Sheet #C2.01-2.03 show
driveways to be 5" 3600 PSI concrete. Is this pay item for the driveways? If so, what
is the correct thickness? See Addendum No.1 for corrections.

(8/2712009) Keith Marvin -Questions -Southwestern Blvd Austin-Response 2.doc
18) Does the developer have property adjacent to the roadway to set up a temporary
portable concrete batch plant? Yes. Contractor will be require to obtain all
permits necessary for the operation of the batch plant, carry appropriate
insurance coverage for the facility and will be required to clean and restore the
site.
Thank you for your time and assistance.
