RE: 2009 Street Reconstruction Plans
S. Heartz Road, Dobecka Drive, and Clear Creek Lane ~'
Dear Keith:
Please find attached two (2) sets of preliminary plans for the above referenced
project. We still need to add a quantity sheet, erosion control plans and relevant
detail sheets for the construction of the improvements. We are also awaiting your
decision on the water line alignment and the potential need for the sanitary sewer line
in Dobecka Drive. The remainder of the sheets should be included. As you review
the plans, please note the following list of items and provide feedback as necessary.
S. Heartz Road
• We have modified S. Heartz Road to shift the roadway 2 feet to the east as
discussed within our meeting. This shift allowed for smoother driveways on
the western side which is entirely residential.
• We have added curb wall on the east side of the roadway adjacent to an
existing parking lot around Station 2+00 to decrease some of the grade
difference between the roadway and the existing parking lot. Currently, the
ground has subsided and has exposed the subgrade of the parking lot in a
number of areas.
• At approximately Station 7+00, we have encountered an area that is relatively
flat within the City right-of-way and approximately 20-30 feet east of the right-
of-way on the Christ Our Savior Lutheran Church property. We have
attempted to address this in regards to the right-of-way; however, we cannot
address the area east of the right-of-way without further lowering the roadway
in this area, which would increase driveway slopes beyond the preferred limits.
Dobecka Drive
• We have provided abest-fit roadway alignment for Dobecka Drive while
decreasing the roadway width from 29 ft back-to-back (existing) to the typical
section of 28 ft back-to-back. Due to the transitions around the existing
medians, this roadway is proposed to be a crown street section instead of the
City standard parabolic street.
• We have submitted to you a couple of different alignments for the proposed
water line in Dobecka Drive. After you have made a decision regarding the
water line placement, we will update the plan sheets and send copies to you
separately for review.

Clear Creek Lane
• We have added additional inlets near the existing alley on Clear Creek Lane
due to the roadway profile as well as exceeding street capacities. Due to the
hydraulic grade line within the proposed system, we have proposed replacing
the storm line beginning at the connecting wye in Willow Springs Drive.
• Due to the existing pavement condition at the gutter and southbound travel
lane of Sandy Kno{I Lane at its intersection with Clear Creek Lane, we have
proposed to replace the existing concrete up to the centerline of Sandy Knoll
Lane.
After you have had a chance to look over the submittal, we would like to schedule a
meeting with you to discuss any comments that you may have. If you have any
questions or comments prior to scheduling a meeting, please do not hesitate to call.
Sincerely,
TEAGUE NALL AND PERKINS, INC.
