Rolling Oaks MC-CS070703(12I7I2009) Ken Griffin - Re: Coppell Cemetery From: Tim Oates To: cdobecka~ndmce.com; Date: 7/3/200710:48 AM Subject: Re: Coppell Cemetery Ken Griffin; mdaniel~ndmce.com Gentlemen, Based on the use of the property, the Fire Dept, believes the fire hydrants shown are adequate. It appears the 'maintenance' building in the NE corner of the property is under 5,000 sq ft, therefore it will not need to be equipped with an automatic fire sprinkler system. If the building exceeds 5,000 sq ft, then a system will be required and the main water system will have to 'loop' along the internal road. The other structures, other than the funeral home at the SW corner of the property, we assume, will be constructed of non-combustible materials and they will contain minimal, if any, combustible materials. Long story short...the fire hydrants shown are adequate. Tim Oates Coppell Fire Department Deputy Chief -Prevention & Building Div. 500 Southwestern Blvd. Coppell, Texas 75019 Office # 972/304-7055 Fax # 972/304-3514 »> Ken Griffin 7/2/2007 5:12 PM »> Mike The only thing that could change may be additional fire hydrants. You may want to check with Tim Oates to determine how they would handle a fire in the cemetery. If additional fire hydrants are needed, then the 2" waterline would need to be upsized to a 6 or 8" waterline. Long term there will be issues with the trail and potential buildings on the east side that encroach in the floodplain and waters of the US. I'm copying Tim on this response. Hope this helps. Ken Griffin »> Mike Daniel <mdaniel@ndmce.com> 7/2/2007 3:22 PM »> Ken, We are being asked to help develop budget numbers for the infrastructure costs in phase 1. Before we do anything more, I would like to get Staffs comments on our preliminary plans. Has your department had a chance to look them over yet? Mike Daniel, PE, RPLS Nathan D.
