Should we stick with the agenda item the way it is? -----Original Message----- From: Ken Griffin To: Keith Marvin <KMARVIN@ci.coppell.tx.us> Sent: 5/19/2009 6:03:00 PM Subject: Re: St. Joseph Village Channel Project Check to see what the move in move out cost would be. It may be less expensive to build the cofferdam so we can on with the project. Water release could bean ongoing issue with the weatherwe've had. -----Original Message----- From: Keith Marvin To: Ken Griffin <KGRIFFIN@ci.coppell.tx.us> Cc: Richard Odell <RODELL@ci.coppell.tx.us> Sent: 5/19/2009 5:15:55 PM Subject: St. Joseph Village Channel Project Ken, Clay signed the contracts for this project on Monday. Craig Olden moved their equipment in today. They called me a half hour ago and said that the water level is higher than it was when we met out there a month ago. I looked on the USACOE web site and found that they are releasing 2295cfs from Lake Lewisville. I called them and they expect to continue to release at that rate for about a week. Olden is unable to begin their work due to the current water level. The options at this point is to wait a week or so forthe water level to return to normal. Olden will be forced to haul off their equipment and haul it back in later. They have not specifically mentioned it, but I suspect they will ask for compensation for this additional move. The other option is to build a cofferdam to protect the work are from the water. They are working on a proposal for that, but they verbally told me it would add $15,000 to $20,000 to the cost. Page Right nowwe have on the next council agenda an item to ratifythe emergency contract. Ifwe decide to wait, we may want to change that. 2I7I2009) Ken Griffin - Re: St. Joseph Village Channel Project Any guidance you have would be appreciated. Page Keith
