RE: Section 2A & C and Section 3B - Dallas Water Supply Line (City of Irving)
Dear Mr. Griffin:
This correspondence is a follow-up to our conversation this morning conceming the Dallas Water
Supply Line. The water line through the area associated with Coppell was awarded in two sections
(Section 2A & C and Section 3B). Please refer to the attached construction plans. The contractors
for these two projects, Section 2A & C and Section 3B, are Pate Brothers and J. C. Evans
Construction Co., Steve Cervas respectively.
As discussed this morning, the construction plans are complete. The projects have been awarded and
pre-zonstruction meetings have been conducted for the projects. I apologize for not inviting a
representative of the City of Coppell to be in attendance at the pre-constmction conferences.
Presently, the pipe is almost completely manufactured by Gifford-Hill American. The contracts
should be signed by all parties by the middle of next week and notices to begin construction should be
issued, hopefully, for April 22, 1996.
The projects will be coordinated in the field and inspected by Mr. Tim Bilyeu. He will be the contact
person. He has been instructed to contact Mr. Lan~ Davis of your office. Mr. Bilyeu's supervisor is
Mr. Rod Smithey, Chief Construction Inspector. He can be reached at 721-2222. We understand that
we will be inspecting the projects. However, we also understand that your personnel will also be
inspecting the projects in regard to City of Coppell infrastructure and specifications. If your
representatives have any problems, please advise Mr. Bilyeu and he will address your concerns with
the contractors. Additional concerns can be discussed with either Mr. Smithey or me.
