We have topo from our GIS system.  You can contact John Wilmarth at 972-304-3679 to obtain the information.  I'm basically asking for a study that shows no impact to the water surface.  The fence material must be decorative metal (wrought iron).  I used this approach for a similar situation and required that the area of the official floodplain where the fence encroached be evaluated with a Mannings Coefficient of 0.08 instead of 0.035.  I'm not asking for any CDC information because they still will not be able to fill or build in the fenced area in the floodplain.   Hope this helps. Ken Griffin   >>> "Ron Morrison" <ronmorrison@hughes.net> 7/11/2008 4:15 PM >>> Ken: We are doing a small study for Steve Homeyer who represents the owners of 224 - 228 Hollywood Drive Coppell. The owners want to move their fences back to reclaim a portion of their yards.  This area is in the floodplain and they will need to do an H&H study to determine what impacts the fence will have.  We understand that they basically need to show a wall section in the model where they want to place the fence and then move it back to where there are no impacts on the floodplain. We have a few questions in this regard: Does the City have Topographic maps for this area. We have sent to FEMA for the most recent model for the Elm Fork Trinity. This will be used to model existing conditions and Fence Conditions. Please let me know the City rules for fences. Such as: Must we consider the fence as a blockage and all area on the Residence side of the fence as  ineffective flow. Are there other considerations that must be addressed such as CDC requirements.  Thank you for your help. Ron   Ronald W. Morrison, P.E., C.F.M.
