Ken-
All of the buildup is a result of runoff from the existing drainage ditch through the Lesley site prior to Duke's
ownership, as evidenced by the established vegetation on the silt buildup- (nearly 2' deep). Duke is in the
process of resolving the situation by capturing all of the drainage in the box culvert currently being installed and
cleaning up the west side of the existing box and installing rock rip-rap per the revised plan you should receive
today from Jack.
If you have questions, require additional information or would like to meet on site to review the situation, just let
me know.
Thanks
Alex

Jack
Could you check this out? There appears to be two issues. One, if the silt did come from the
Duke site then it needs to be removed. Two, if silt is leaving the site then the erosion control is
not working correctly and it should be revised to ensure silt does not leave the Duke site.
Let me know when you determine what's going on so I can respond to the property owner.
Thanks
Ken

Hello,
I sent the message below to Keith Marvin. I just received a response that he is no longer in the
engineering department. Could you please have someone contact me regarding this issue.
Thank you.

Drainage Channel
Issues
Hello Keith!
Last year you came out and met myself and my Operations Manager at our property located at
1405, 1421, 1441 & 1461 S. Beltline Rd. At the time we were having an issue with soil erosion
from the adjacent properties clogging up the drainage channel that runs though the middle of our
business park. Last year we incurred over $15,000 to get the excess silt and dirt removed from
the drainage channel. With the development of the new DUKE commercial site to our West and
South erosion control has not been added to prevent soil erosion, thus the ditch we cleaned out
last year is approximately 50% full of silt from their site.
Please let me know when the erosion control will be added along our Western boundary and who
will be responsible for cleaning this ditch again.
