SS9301-CS 940603To: Ken Griffin, P.E., Assistant City Manager/City Engineer From: Garreth D. Campbell, Construction Inspector. RE: Grapevine Creek Slope Failure Date: June 3, 1994 Attached for your review are photographs taken in the area of Sta. 38 +00 on Branch I of the Grapevine Creek SanitaD, Sewer Project. Photo No. 1 shows the vertical drop approximately thirteen feet from the centerline of the 30" sewer line. The drop is approximately eight feet. Photo No. 2 was taken looking west along the top of the failure. Photo No. 3A was taken down stream of the creek and illustrates the extent to which the slope has moved. Photo No. 3B continues that panorama with the "X" being a common point. Photo No. 4 was taken from the creek looking up the slope. Photo No. 5 was taken from the railroad bridge and shows the creek in the lower left corner and the top of the failure in the upper right corner. As we discussed earlier, the continuation of movement in this area could threaten the integrity of the 30" sewer line. Some type of permanent slope protection is necessaD, to prevent future erosion. I hope the photographs are helpful. If you need to discuss this issue further, please let me know.
