ST0003-CS080819 (2) (8/16/2011) Keith Marvin - Re: Fw: spoke wtih Coppell City Engineer - Coppell RoadPage 1 From: Keith Marvin To:Griffin, Ken CC:Phillips, Clay Date: 8/19/2008 9:08 AM Subject: Re: Fw: spoke wtih Coppell City Engineer - Coppell Road Ken, From what I can tell the complaints are about the overhead lines in general. It appears that they want to see power, phone, cable, etc. buried. I have requested from Verizon a cost to bury the overhead line on the east side of the road. When I told Danny Fortune that Olen Steel had told me it would cost around $300,000 he told me not to call Olen, and to call Steve Olinski. They are going to work up a more accurate number and get it to me today or tomorrow. I have left a message for Mr. Epperson asking him to call me back to discuss this situation. I am also curious who he has spoken with that gave this information. Danny spoke in general terms about how they are not allowed to spend additional monies upgrading their lines in one area when it would cause rate payers in another area to help pay the cost. He indicated that the cost difference would need to be payed by the City, the HOA, or another entity before they could bury the lines. He also called me on Monday to let me know that he did not intend to "point the finger back at the city." Keith >>> Ken Griffin 8/19/2008 8:07 AM >>> Keith What "lines" are all these emails referring to - east side Verizon or west side Verizon, TXU and cable? If it's the single Verizon line on the east, what would it cost to bury it? If it's all the lines on the west side, we have no plans to bury them and have never had any discussions on burying them. Do we know who the "Coppell businessman" is that is speaking for the city in these matters? It would be helpful to know so we could provide correct/updated information to him/her. If Danny Fortune, of Verizon, spoke to the residents did he speak about the east or west side lines? Enough of my rambling, just email me some information so I know what this all pertains to. Thanks ken g >>> Keith Marvin 08/18/08 11:47 PM >>> To my knowledge we have no plans to bury these lines. We are working on a project update mailing. We can include some information on the overhead lines in that mailing. Keith Keith Marvin, P.E.
