Subject: Citizens' Advocate question about overhead phone lines on Coppell Road
Hi Ken,
It's Jane with the Citizens' Advocate. A reader contacted us a while back regarding the issue of Verizon not
burying its overhead power lines along Coppell road when it installed its Fios lines. She thought the overhead
lines were an eyesore. I think she had contacted the City and there was some miscommunication, but I thought
we would do an "Info Depot" on it, and also include information about why lines are buried in some parts of town
and whether power companies ever go back and bury existing overhead lines. Also, does the City have any say
in whether lines are buried?
This won't be a long story-- just some quick information. It is probably not for this week, but I'd like to gather what
I need as soon as possible.
Do you want me to call you?
Thanks,
Jane M.
