RE: Grapevine Creek Sanitary Sewer Project SS 94-02
Dear Sir:
Enclosed with this letter is your check in the amount of $5,709.00 which was submitted in May
for additional cost associated with the redesign of the sewer ~ as shown on revised Sheet SA.
As you are aware, the original design and the subsequent revised design, as provided by HDR
does not work. Based on your original design, the sewer line on the west side of Denton Tap
is now too high to accept the proposed sewer line running westward along the DART railroad
tracks. It is my understanding that you are still looking at options to rectify this problem. In
your last correspondence to the City of Coppell you questioned whether the City wishes to
pursue the rerouting of the sewer line. As we stated in several meetings, the City acquLred
easements from the property north of the railroad tract, North Iatke Nursery, with the stipulation
that the sewer line across the rear of that property would be relocated with this construction.
Because of errors on the front end, it is becoming increasingly difficult to find an alternate route
to relocate that sewer line.
Prior to the City committing to relocating sewer lines and muting ~em through exisling
neighborhoods and down sizing from 12" to 8" etc., the City is interested in ~ing out HDR's
position on financial contribution to this project over and above what the City had received in
the bid for the original design.
Again, provided with this letter is your original Check for the design on revised $1~eet 5A that
does not work. Once you have considered this information please contact me at (214)304-3679
to further discuss this matter.
Sincerely,
Kenneth M. Griffin, P. E.
