I am in receipt of Mira Mar Development Corporation's January 14, 2008 letter to Mr. Sieb and Ms.
Diamond of the City of Coppell Planning Dept. In our prior telephone conversations, the City had extended
to Mira Mar the option of waiving the 30-day rule on plat review and requesting a continuance of the plat
consideration in order to give both sides additional time to address the outstanding issues regarding the sewer
pipe easement, the Berkebile boundary dispute, and the FEMA flood plain line. Based on our conversations,
I understood that Mira Mar had opted to pursue a waiver and continuance and that it would submit to the
City Planning Department a letter to that effect.
However, the letter addressed to Mr. Sieb and Ms. Diamond does not request the waiver, but instead
re-urges conditional approval. Please be aware that the outstanding plat issues still exist and without a clear
waiver request, or resolution of the issues, the Planning & Zoning Commission will consider the plat as it is
currently submitted at Thursday's meeting. Because of the serious nature of the outstanding issues,
conditional approval will not likely be recommended for the plat as it currently stands.
Should Mira Mar still desire to pursue a waiver and continuance, please submit an appropriate letter to
the Planning Dept. Please do not hesitate to contact me if you have any additional questions.
