DATE: December 10, 2007 SUBJECT: Soil boring in Deforest Road and the Alley south of Deforest MEMORANDUM Please find attached a PDF file showing the proposed soil boring locations along Deforest Road. We have marked the approximate location of each bore. Boring numbers two (2) and seven (7) will be in the alley, between the existing driveways. The remaining bores will be either in the eastbound or westbound lanes of Deforest. The boring holes will be approximately 6- inches in diameter. The Geotechnical firm (Alpha Testing) will repair all holes after drilling. The engineer for Alpha Testing is Brian Powell, P.E. 972 - 620 -8911. Alpha Testing will obtain a city permit and provide a traffic control plan. By law, Alpha Testing will have to notify Dig Tess to mark each location again. They will core after the locations have been marked. We estimate that the coring will begin after the first of the year in January 2008 because we do not want to be in Deforest the week of Christmas! This work will be done in two days. We will start in the roadway and end in the alleys. Each bore will take between 30 minutes to one hour at each location.
