Hi Keith
The Lakes of Coppell HOA will be holding our Annual Meeting tomorrow night and I was wondering if you
could send me an update on when the DeForest Road construction upgrade? Are there plans/timeline yet
for when the work might begin? Any info you could send me would be appreciated.

Mr. Greenia,
The wood fence on the south side of Deforest will remain in place after the project. There are some
places where the grade change due to the construction will require that we build a retaining wall adjacent
to the fence. The engineer is still working on the design of this wall, however our expectation is that it can
be built without impacting the fence.
Our original concept was to have sidewalk only on the north side of the road. We had a public meeting
last month and the feedback at that meeting was less than favorable about the sidewalk. We are

presently redesigning the project to allow for sidewalk on both sides of the road.

The City of Coppell is in the design phase for the reconstruction of Deforest Road. The plan is to remove
the asphalt paving, and construct a 28 foot concrete street. We expect to improve vehicular safety and
improve drainage along the road. We plan to construct sidewalks the entire length of the project, and
install a traffic signal at the intersection of Deforest Road and MacArthur Blvd.
We expect to complete the design in the next few months. We will then have some right of way
acquisition and utility relocations that will need to take place. The project will begin construction once
these are complete. We anticipate that to be during the second half of 2009.
