City
Update
At the February 23 regular
meeting, Coppell City Council
members discussed or acted on
items including the following:
-After a presentation by Brad
Reid, director of parks and rec-
reation, Council approved the
community -wide trails imple-
mentation plan, which comprises
a recreational route around the
city with connections to sur-
rounding cities. The City will
notify residents who live within
200 feet of any trail construc-
tion that would impact them.
*Heard a presentation from City
Engineer Ken Griffin on planned
road construction projects, in-
cluding work on Bethel Road
that will involve a five -month clo-
sure. Other streets slated for im-
provements include Heartz Road
south to London Way, Shadow -
crest west of Moore, Dobecka
Drive and Clear Creek Lane.
More sidewalks are planned in
some parts of town and the City
also plans to remove and replace
pavers at Sandy Lake and
Denton Tap Roads. A new traf-
fic light is also scheduled for in-
stallation at Sandy Lake Road
and Riverchase Drive. The
projects are funded by a 1 /a cent
City sales tax.
