Reference: Estimated Cost for Constriction Materials Testing, Bethel Road, Remaining Work,
Coppell, Texas
Dear Mr. Marvin:
Based on our recent meeting we are providing an estimated cost for construction materials testing
services in order to complete the Bethel Road project. Based on our current estimated cost contract
with the City of Coppell, we estimated 160 total trips for construction materials testing for a fee of
$44,654.50. Through March 30, 2008 ECS has been to the site 163 times and $6,646.29 remains left
in the budget, indicating that we are under budget for our initial assumed construction schedule.
However, almost half of the road remains to be constructed. Therefore, we are providing an estimated
total cost (attached) based on the following assumptions:
• Box Culvert concrete placements will occur in 200 foot sections. Four trips for each 5 foot by
10 foot culvert are anticipated to sample concrete for the slab -on- grade, each wall (2) and top
slab.
• Pavement concrete placements will consist of an average of 500 cubic yard concrete
placements.
