As you may know, FI~MA is in tho process of' r~visinl~ our floodplain maps. Apparently, there
ar~ still some items that need to be addressed as related to the ref'er~nced Denton Tap Road
Brld~e (i.e. as-built plans, maint~-nance, etc.).
It is requested by FF_,MA, per subparagraph 60.3 (b)(7) of NFIP re~ulalions, the City shall assure
that the channel modifications related to the Denton Tap Road bridl~e replacement b~ properly
maintained. (See attechcd check list dated ~Ianuary 3, 1991)
Please provide a letter to FNMA to the attention of' Matthew Miller, P.E., addressinl~ the channel
mainlenance, at your earliest convenience, and forward it to me for inclusion with other necessary
documents be£or~ submitted to 1H~MA.
If I can be of' any assistance, please advise. I appreciate your help.

RE: Denton Tap Floodplain Revision
Dear Mr. Miller:
The City of Coppell does not assume maintenance responsibility
for floodways on private property. Maintenance of channels is
the responsibility of the property owner and/or the developer.
However, the City does retain the right to enter the property and
perform such work as deemed necessary.
It is the City of Coppell's policy to maintain drainage areas
within its rights-of-ways from allocated funds authorized by the
City Council of the City of Coppell. Depending on budgetary
resources, reasonable maintenance and care is performed. Thus is
the case with regard to Denton Tap Road at Grapevine Creek.
