ST9902-CS071112 (3/9/2010) Keith Marvin - RE: Tracking # BILS-913398Page 1 From: Keith Marvin To:Mills, Bill CC:Birdsall, Per Date: 11/12/2007 5:17 PM Subject: RE: Tracking # BILS-913398 Mr. Mills, All of our signalized intersections have stop bars. They are the markings on the roadway that indicate where cars are expected to stop for the light. As far as the signs go, we have some at the driveways from the Tom Thumb shopping center onto Sandy Lake Road just east of Denton Tap. They simply say "Do Not Block Drive" or similar wording. We have observed the traffic and pedestrian flow at this location. We will continue to observe it after the signal is placed into operation. Keith Marvin, P.E. In the interim where are the high school kids going to safely cross Sandy Lake? Maybe if someone would watch the traffic at this intersection between the hours of 0730-0830 and 1730-1830 you and others will understand the immediate need for these devices, before someone gets hurt or worse. So far we've been lucky during the 12+ years I've been in this home, but I hold my breath as I watch our kids time their sprint across this busy street.........and it's getting worse by the day. We are unable to stripe a crosswalk across Sandy Lake Road due to the fact that there is no sidewalk on either side of the street to connect with the crossing. We will build sidewalk through this area when Sandy Lake Road is widened. We will however install stop bars at the intersection when the light becomes operational. We can install signage informing the public not to block your driveway while they are waiting at the light. (3/9/2010) Keith Marvin - RE: Tracking # BILS-913398Page 2 Keith Marvin, P.E.
