Consulting Engineer's Contract
Modification to the Scope of Services
1. Scope of Work
TNP shall provide professional traffic engineering services, as outlined below, for the
preparation of design plans for a traffic signal installation at the intersection of Sandy Lake
Road and Whispering Hills in the City of Coppell. The plans will be prepared according to and
will meet the City of Coppell requirements and will be included with the roadway plans being
prepared by TNP. This modification is for additional services associated with the existing
contract to design four traffic signals along Sandy Lake Road. Previous and ongoing work
being done under this existing contract will be utilized, including meeting information,
specifications, and design standards. Generally, the work items below will be followed in
preparing design plans, specifications, and cost estimate data:
a) Gather data on the proposed configuration of the intersection and utilities in the area.
b) Evaluate the intersection on site to confirm data, and identify pale foundation locations,
power source and controller cabinet location.
c) Prepare a preliminary signal design for review by the City. Recommended signal
phasing will be developed based on lane configurations and field observations.
d) Upon approval of preliminary layouts, prepare a complete set of Traffic Signal Design
Plans for the construction of the proposed signal. Plans will conform with and utilize City
of Coppell design standards.
e) Plans sheets will be included in the overall construction plan set prepared by TNP.
11, Project schedule
The work will generally proceed within the schedule for the project as described below.
Phase 3 (City Funded) — Just west of Coppell Road South to Denton Tap Road
Preliminary Design Plans June 2008
Final Design Plans September 2008
Ill. Compensation
The Engineer shall be paid an additional lump sum fee for the above described Additional
Scope of Services in an amount of Eight Thousand, and no1100 Dollars ($8,000). This
amount includes the following increases:
Engineering Design & Construction Services: $8,000
