Re:Conditional Letter of Map Revision
Grapevine Creek - City of Coppell
Dear Ms. Cunningham:
This is to request your review and conditional approvals of a
revision to the Flood Insurance Rate Maps for Grapevine Creek in
the City of Coppell, Texas. The purpose of this revision is for
two proposed projects: (1) for the City in the construction of a
new bridge across the creek at approximate stream station 254+30;
and (2) for channel improvements and fill to the channel and in
the overbanks, respectively.
The accompanying september 22, 1987 report by PAWA-Winkelmann &
Associates, Inc., of Dallas, provldes the hydraulic models,
profiles, sections, and floodplain maps demonstrating the results
of an investigation of the proposed projects. Drawings also
accompany this letter which depict the construction details of
both projects. The drawings for the proposed bridge are by Ginn,
Inc., of Dallas, and the drawings for the floodplain reclamation
by Don A. Tipton, Inc., of Garland, Texas.
The City of Coppell supports these projects as proposed and has
funds for construction and maintenance of the bridge and related
improvements. The project developer will maintain the channel
improvements, post a bond to assure continued maintenance, or
provide funding for the City to maintain the channel.
