Bid Narrative
The City of Coppell is seeking bid proposals for the turn -key construction of an
underground conduit connecting Fire Station 3 Located at 133 E. Parkway Blvd. to the
Coppell Aquatic and Recreation Center located at 234 E. Parkway Blvd. The Conduit
will also branch off and connect to an existing traffic signal box at the corner of Denton
Tap and Parkway Blvd. See the included layout for additional information on location.
The as -built plans of Fire Station 3 shows an existing empty 3" conduit running from the
building to the street right -of -way. The plan is to intercept this existing conduit, install a
pull box and bore under Parkway Blvd. to the north side of the road. A pull box will be
placed behind the curb on the north side, and a conduit will go east and west along
Parkway from this box. The conduit going west will intercept the existing traffic box at
the corner of Parkway and Denton Tap.
The conduit running east will parallel the back of curb with bores at Stonemead Way and
Hertz Road. Pull boxes are required at no greater than 500 foot spacing. The conduit
will then turn and run down city owned property to the middle of the western face of the
Aquatic Center. The contractor will be responsible for terminating the conduit run inside
the drop ceiling of the Aquatic Center. The detail included in the plans is based on the
building plans, and may be modified upon mutual agreement of the owner and contractor.
Materials for the project shall be per the included plans. Alternates will only be accepted
based on written approval by the City.
All street, sidewalk, or other concrete areas shall be by other than open cut. The
contractor may open cut or bore other areas. In either case the contractor will be
responsible for restoration of disturbed areas, to include replacement of sod, repair of
irrigation systems, and repair of any damage to city or franchise utilities. No trees shall
be damaged or removed during the course of this project.
This project will be paid on the basis of the lump sum bid, and shall be full compensation
for furnishing all labor, materials, tools, and equipment necessary to complete the work
as described here, and in the included drawing. The city will require a payment bond on
this project. Please include any cost associated with this in your bid amount.

your bid so we may accurately compare all bids received.
