Boy Scouts. to Pick Up Bags with Food Items
This Saturday as Part of `Scouting for Food'
Coppell Boy Scouts were
busy this past weekend in the
cold weather, dropping off yel-
low bags as part of the "Scout-
ing for Food" program that many
residents discovered on their
doorsteps.
. • The Boy Scouts are asking
residents to fill the bags with
non - perishable food items to ben-
efit local food pantries. Scouts
will be, out by 10:00 a.m. this
Saturday, February 20, to pick up
the bags filled with donated items.
A local food pantry, located
at First Baptist Church in
Coppell, has reported an almost
empty pantry in January due to
an unprecedented number of re-
quests, said a Boy Scout spokes-
man.
"Scouting for Food" is the
largest annual food drive held in
North Texas and local pantries
rely heavily on the Boy Scouts
during the event, said the

New Stop Signs to
be Installed After
Complaints Heard
The City of Coppell 's Engi-
neering Department will install
a multi -way stop sign at the in-
tersection of Gibbs Crossing and
Village Parkway next week.
After an investigation
prompted by citizen complaints
about the intersection, the de-
partment authorized the installa-
tion based on guidelines estab-
lished through the Texas Manual
on Uniform Traffic Control De-
vices.
