I reviewed the documents submitted for this activity. The work in question is of a maintenance type, and
the dollar value of the work is such that a P.E. seal and signature is not required.
If approval of the engineering department is required, it is granted with the following stipulations:
1. The 6" x 6" welded wire fabric shall be replaced with #3 Rebar at 18" OCEW.
2. The anchor bolts shall be Stainless Steel, and of the dimensions indicated on the calculation. They
should also be tied to the steel within the pier as appropriate.
3. The top of the pier should be formed so water does not sit on the top of the pier adjacent to the anchor
bolts.
If you need any additional information, or if the engineering department can provide any additional service,
please feel free to call.

As per comments Larry Davis made on the plan we received, legibility is the main factor delaying his
approval at this point. He asked Choice Concrete for a readable copy & they faxed one that had only half
the engineer's seal and requirements from City of Mesquite standards. I called them and they said that's
all they had. Cody from Traffic division hand carried one to us today that is the exact same one we
already had. It must have come from a larger original & we want to review that document prior to approval
of the plan; the entire engineer's seal should be legible on the copy we receive. Attached is the plan we
got from Choice. Please reply with your comments.
