Rolling Oaks MC-CS0907152010) Michael Garza - RE: FW: Landscape Changes for Rolling Oaks Page 1 From: Tom Omick To: Michael Garza CC: Brad Reid Date: 7/15/2009 5:18 PM Subject: RE: FW: Landscape Changes for Rolling Oaks Mike, Their figures show 7500 sq. ft. @ .30 a sq. ft. equals $2,250. According to my figures the sod area for monument area covers 1,899 sq ft.@ .30 cents a sq. ft. this would be $570.00. Now this is for the monument area, if they are including sod around the columbarium of course the amounts would be different. We also need to consider how much of the site was disturbed as a result of the request to maintain spoils on site and any costs associated with reworking spots where natural vegetation had been established (which was probably small). We're just trying to understand the scope of the request made vs. the CO R. Thanks for your assistance, Ken Baxter Senior Project Manager J. Stuart T Inc. However, the contract and what they bid includes to haul that material off, therefore we saved them some money by keeping it onsite. In addition, they are supposed to establish erosion control on disturbed soil, they would have placed hydro -mulch on this area anyway whether there was a berm there or not. Also, there are still bare areas where they disturbed soil and have yet to establish erosion protection /vegetation. We are still getting silt on the roadways and gutters traveling down to the storm drain. Establishing vegetation and erosion protection is required by the State and the NOI submitted to the state. Can you find out what the cost is for the extra work outside of the original contract. 2010) Michael Garza - Re: Fwd: FW: Landscape Changes for Rolling Oaks Page 1 From: Tom Omick To: Michael Garza, Brad Reid Date: 7/15/2009 1:45 PM Subject: Re: Fwd: FW: Landscape Changes for Rolling Oaks Mike, did request sod for the memorial display so we are responsible for that amount. In addition, they are supposed to establish erosion control on disturbed soil, they would have placed hydro -mulch on this area anyway whether there was a berm there or not. They may have placed more hydro -mulch than called for but I don't believe we should pay the full amount. They are asking for $7,616.00 plus overhead and profit for the earthwork of the berm and hydro -mulch with irrigation. The first one was to make the stockpile from the project into a permanent berm. We did the earthwork on the berm and did hydro- seeding along with temporary irrigation to establish the seed. Tom Omick also requested an area North of the Columbarium to have sod and temporary irrigation. This is the area he plans to place sample headstones for sales.
