RE: Bethel Road Reconstruction, Project #SS94-02C
Dear Mr. Sharp:
This letter is written as a follow-up to our June 1, 1998 telephone conversation concerning the
proposed reconstruction of a portion of Bethel Road. With this letter the City of Coppell is
requesting the County's participation in the reconstruction. The County's participation would be
in the removal of the existing asphalt on the south side of the roadway and reinstalling CTB with
a final course of asphalt on top of the CTB.
It is my understanding, based on the classification of Bethel Road, that the County will provide
the labor and equipment while the City will fund the materials. The most recent estimate on the
cost of materials is $43,417.00. The City currently has a escrow account with the County in the
amount of $23,958.53. It is the City's intent to use those available funds and provide a check to
the County in the amount of $19,468.47. When the City/C~_u_n__ty Supplemental Agreement is
finalized. The contractor has indicated that he will begin work on June 8, 1998 and there should
be a preconstruction meeting sometime later this week.
As always, the City appreciates cooperation from Dallas County on projects of this nature and
