Subject: NTTA new direction
Just got off the phone with Steve Hankins at 5:15 pm and he had news to share that is about 180
degrees different than what we have been discussing. Without the benefit of an official board meeting
(I guess they just all talked to each other), the board has decided the following: Under NO
circumstance will they paint the sound walls - even if we pay the full freight; the "oak leaves ", if
even approved, will be at the sole cost of Coppell; they are receptive to spreading the landscaping to
more align with the intersecting streets (not sure if we would need to participate in any increased cost);
and they are receptive to sandblasting the paint off the existing TxDOT bridge wall that abuts the new
sound wall (at their cost).
I thanked him for the ample amount of time that he provided for me to incorporate this information into
my presentation. He stated that he had just received the information himself.
