NTTA Proposal
Sandblast new sound walls and leave them in their natural gray
color. All existing walls constructed by TxDOT would remain
as they exist today (light tan color). At the end of the life
cycle for the existing TxDOT walls (paint is in disrepair and
needs maintenance), NTTA would sandblast all paint off
TxDOT walls so they would be gray like the NTTA walls.

Possible Scenarios
1. Continue to push NTTA to paint the sound walls, at NTTA
cost.
2. Have NTTA redistribute landscaping to intersecting streets, not
just at Denton Tap and MacArthur. Also, have NTTA add the
..oak leaves" portion of the city logo periodically along the
wall with the same color as the existing TxDOT underpasses.
All at NTTA cost.
3. Work with NTTA to paint the sound walls, at city cost.
(Estimate - $591,000 / $125,000 initial painting and $466,000
invested for future maintenance.)
