West Bethel Road Bridge to Go Down, Access to Close
By Jean Murph
The Coppell.City Council got
off to its regular summer sched-
ule Tuesday of one meeting per
month, hearing an update on the
road closures and reconstruction
currently underway. The Denton
Tap -Sandy Lake intersection clo-
sure east -west, with one lane of
traffic north- south, is proceed-
ing without incident and perhaps
moving even more quickly on

Denton Tap because of no stop-
lights, said City Manager Clay
Phillips.
"We are aware of the incon-
venience this closure. causes,"
said, Phillips. But the "pain of
only one month" closure was
better" than more lanes being
open for a longer period of time,
he said.
"The reason why we're do-
ing this is school is out and traf-
fic is lower," said Phillips. The
project will be completed well
before school begins, he said.
Phillips added that motorists
are prohibited from cutting
through parking lots.
"If we do get complaints, we
will be out enforcing the law,"
said Phillips.
