Gentlemen:
Upon .looking at the road failures on this project, we have
concluded that several of the failures are not the fault of Pa~e
Brothers Construction'.
These failures are a direct result of water sitting in the drainage
ditches that are either plugged or do not drain due to the improper
elevations of the ditch. This sitting water saturates the trench
backfill to the point that it is unfit for backfill. -The road in
~he~e areas will fail again after the next several rains where the
water stays in the ditch due to improper drainage.
Pate Brothers will stand by any failures that are a result Of our
workmanship. The areas that have either no drainage or poor
drainage will need to be addressed by other means.
