I don't have the luxury of being able to draw anything to scale. The only thing I can work from is google maps. So the locations of existing topo are estimated. What you have seen is a graphical representation of the traffic control. Everything is laid out based on distances per MUTCD. If a sign or arrow board ends up in a driveway then it is shifted to avoid the opening. This also goes for the area of construction, yes phase II looks small graphically but what is shown is the general area of construction. What it comes down to is that I am free handing the existing topo and doing a lot of guessing with very little data to work from. The topo will never be perfect without a detailed survey. If the city wants to perform densities then the project could be sitting idle for three days while waiting on the proctor. The way we operate is to remove and set up as quickly as possible. Removals on phase one should take a max of two days more than likely one day. Then we set up and pour. We will be ready to set up and pour before densities are ready to be taken. Wasn't it discussed that there is a possibility of proof rolling instead of taking densities? Thanks Lee M. Halencak, P.E. We would like to see Keyway joints throughout the stamped areas. Because the south median nose does not have enough room to fit the standard detail then we will just replace the nose with a std 6" curb like what is out there today. file: HC: \Documents and Settings \radloo \Local Settings \Temp \XPgrpwise \4BF 16FF 1 City_... 6/29/2010 Page 2 of 2 The geotech has not performed a proctor test yet. Once you are onsite and they are able to pick up a proctor sample it will take them 3 days to complete. On the tcp pans you gave me at the meeting, I have a few comments. 1) You are showing arrow boards and signs placed in driveways both north and south Denton Tap. Please keep these out of the driveways. 2) Noticed that your map is not to scale. You have a 150' taper area that looks like it is longer than the 295' transition area. 3) Show the road closure signs on Sandy Lake at the driveway openings both east and west. 4) Phase II, do not show right turn on Sandy Lake. We don't need people to be slowing down to turn and backing up traffic more. 5) You will need roughly 60' in middle (50' dia +5' each side). Width of phase II construction area seems too small. Also, please don't forget about pedestrians. Joint Layout plan Detail on median nose replacement Does testing lab already have a proctor on the project and ready to take densities. I am working on the TCP for the detours and hope to have it complete today. Lee M. Halencak, P.E.
