I live in Coppell and last week my daughter received a citation for turning right on Fitness Ct in an attempt to get
around the construction at Denton Tap and Sandy Lake. Although she should have realized this was a dead-end
into Everybody Fits, she ended up taking a left to intersect with Sandy Lake, which is when she received the
citation from CPD. Although I believe she made an honest mistake, Coppell should consider erecting a sign at
the corner of Fitness Ct and Dentop Tap stating "NO DETOUR". I have recently learned that many citations have
been given for this same offense, and although one should turn around and not attempt to use this legal street as
a detour route since it does require using Everybody Fit's parking lot, I believe many people are making an honest
mistake and this could be prevented by a simple sign. Unless Coppell is using this for a revenue generator, I
cannot imagine why the city wouldn't do so. Please let me know.
