RE: Bethel Road Sanitary Sewer Project SS 94-02C
Dear Mr. Bisballe:
In your letter dated March 29, 1996 you stated that your portion of the Bethel Road Sanitary
Sewer Project was basically complete except that you needed to fmish some clean-up items. As
you are aware, there is a problem with the connection of the U.S. Postal Center lift station to
the new sanitary sewer due to an error in grades shown in the plans. The Engineering Firm that
designed the sanitary sewer system, HDR, is currently working on this andwe anticipate having
a solution in the very near future.
Also, you indicated in your letter there were some unfinished items that needed to be addressed
by the City. Below are responses to the unfinished items:
"Sewer depth over 15 feet"
Please indicate the location, quantity and additional cost for the excess depth. Also,
remember that Dallas County had proceeded ahead of the sewer line installation for the
majority of this project and removed approximately 12 inches of material.
"Barricades furnished to the County for their work to be completed. The County...
looking to be reimbursed for the extra delay time on traffic control."
Due to the possibility of removing some of the sanitary sewer line already installed in
Bethel Road to correct the grade differences to tie in the U.S. Postal Center lift station,
Dallas County has not completed the road work. At this time, it is uncertain how long
it will be until they are able to complete this work. Please provide a cost for continuing
the traffic control devices on a per week basis.

As mentioned above, this is still being looked at and you will be notified as soon as a
solution has been reached.
"Re-mobile to complete this connection if needed"
Please submit a cost for remobilization once a solution is provided to resolve the grade
difference with the connection at the lift station.

Gentlemen:
As of this date, our portion of work on the above named project is
basically complete. We need to finish some clean-up items.
As for the connection to the wet well, I assume it is under
discussion and you will let me know of your decision.
Also, there are a couple of unfinished items that need to be
addressed by the City2 We will need answers on the followin9
items:
1) Sewer depth over 15'.
2) Barricades furnished to the county for their work to be
completed. The county said they would be no later than one
week behind us to complete their work. We have been 9one from
this site for 2 weeks and they have not completed their
portion of work. We will be lookin9 to be reimbursed for the
extra delay time on the traffic control.
3) The connection to Postal Service building (under discussion at
this time). ·
4) Re-mobile to complete this connection if needed.
Please discuss these items and let me know at your earliest
convenience.
