We have reviewed submittal "062510 Bridge BCW BCW 1 N TX Bridge. Pdf" received on 6/29/10.
This submittal is approved per the following change stated in Field Order #001 which is attached. Tony Diaz, our
structural engineer, has communicated with the beam manufacturer and has been assured this change does not
hinder the project schedule or cost in anyway. Bexar Concrete Works has asked that they be notified of the
approval of Field Order #001 so they can update the design accordingly.

FIELD ORDER NO.: #001
The Contractor is directed as set forth below. These instructions are issued pursuant to the
general conditions in the contract documents. It is the engineer's opinion that this FIELD
ORDER does not alter the contract price or the contract time. The contractor shall notify the
engineer prior to commencing the work should he disagree with the engineer's opinion and
should request a change order.
We are sending Field Order 4001 to you after communicating with Bexar Concrete Works. The
prestressed beam manufacturer (Mr. Jorge Hinojosa) voiced concern about the ability to properly obtain
the prestressing force in the beams with the eccentricity shown and requested a different eccentricity at
the ends to minimize the slope of the depressed strands. The attached drawing shows the new
arrangement of the strands and he has confirmed that he can properly stress the strands as revised. He
will prepare new Shop Drawings expeditiously as soon as he receives notification to prepare them in
accordance with this FO.
