compliance with some of the provisions of the Architectural Barriers
Act, Texas Government Code, Chapter 469.
The non - complying items noted on the enclosed inspection report must
be corrected and verification of completed corrections (in writing)
must be furnished to this office within 90 days from the date of this
letter. If compliance can not be accomplished within the specified
time, please contact this office as soon as possible.
Please note, this determination does not address the requirements of
the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), (P.L. 101 -336), or any
other state, local or federal requirement. For information on the ADA,
please contact the United States Department of Justice, Civil Rights

UNACCEPTABLE 4.7 CURB RAMPS
4.7.1 Locations
Curb ramps complying with 4.7 shall be provided wherever an accessible
route crosses a curb.
4.7.4 Surface
Surfaces of curb ramps shall comply with 4.5.
(1) Texture
Textures shall consist of exposed crushed stone aggregate, roughened
concrete, rubber, raised abrasive strips, or grooves extending the
full width and depth of the curb ramp. Surfaces that are raised,
etched, or grooved in a way that would allow water to accumulate are
prohibited.
* *VIOLATION * ** THE FIVE PARALLEL STYLE CURB RAMPS SERVING THE NEW
ACCESSIBLE PARKING SPACES HAVE TEXTURE /CONTRASTING COLOR ON THE SLOPED
SIDES OF THE RAMPS. PER TM 08 -01 THE TEXTURE /CONTRASTING COLOR SHALL
BE PLACED ON THE BOTTOM LANDING OF A PARALLEL CURB RAMP.
(2) Contrast
For purposes of warning, the full width and depth of curb ramps shall
have a light reflective value and texture that significantly contrasts
with that of adjoining pedestrian routes.
