As requested, a representative of Alliance Geotechnical Group went to the above project site for drilled pier operations.
Due to the inability to use an 18" diameter auger on the drilling rig kelly bar, Pier #18 was drilled as a 20" diameter pier.
Gravel from a sanitary sewer was observed at a depth of approximately 11 feet at pier #18. Consequently 24" diameter
casing was required. In addition, casing was required due to the presence of groundwater near the interface of the
gravel and shale at pier #18. Casing was also used at pier #11.
