Keith -
Attached is a franchise utility coordination update that we prepared back in late May. I think we submitted
a copy of this along with the 60% plans. Since you asked about Verizon and others at our last meeting,
thought I'd pass this along again to make sure that you have a copy for your files. We will be working over
the next several weeks to refine their easement needs and make sure that we are coordinated on sleeves,
etc. if there are additional utility companies that we need to speak with, please let us know.
Thanks!
Trish

SUBJECT: Old Town Coppell — Franchise Utility Coordination
DATE: May 25, 2010
The following is an update on franchise utilities for Old Town Coppell:
1. Oncor :
a. Contacts: Rick Fielding (lighting) and Karen Eastman
b. Update:
L David Beckman (FNI electrical engineer) has been working with Rick Fielding on
all of the electrical issues. We have made progress in our discussions regarding
street lighting issues, but we've had limited success in discussions on the overall
feed plan for the development and ONCOR requirements for providing service.
We are continuing discussing with them in hopes that we can include
infrastructure plans as needed.
ii. David Beckman has submitted 60% lighting plans
2. Atmos:
a. Contact: George Long
b. Update:
i. Gas has been located on South Coppell Rd, Bethel Rd, and Burns St to serve the
site
ii. Gas can be brought in from South Coppell Rd or Bethel Rd.
iii. No duct bank would be required. May require crossing if not installed during
development phase. Atmos can joint trench with other utilities such as electric,
cable, or phone.
iv. No above ground easements required,. Just underground where gas is not in
ROW.
v. Atmos normally runs gas line behind curb in ROW. If gas line is not run within
ROW then a 10' utility easement is required
vi. Further discussions with Atmos are needed to avoid cuts in pavement and
sidewalk for future installations. FNI will continue these discussions as we
advance the design plans.
3. Verizon:
a. Contact: Luis Comas
b. Update:
i. Verizon has provided an exhibit showing that they want to feed the site from
South Coppell and Houston Rd. They anticipate using ROW, but will need a 4"
conduit path shown in their exhibit.
1701 N Market St., #500, LB51 • Dallas, Texas 75202 • 214- 217 -2200 • fax 214- 217 -2201 vvvdiho,fre•ese.coni

ii. If the 4" conduit path is not provided, then there will need to be a utility
easement for Verizon to reside in.
iii. FNI will coordinate this work into the plans as we advance the design.
If there are additional franchise utility companies that the city typically deals with, please let us know
and we will contact them. Please let me know if you have any questions about this update.
