Dear Larry,
In response to a request for information from Paul Carline of Shimek, Jacobs &
Finklea, concerning placement of flowable fill for trench backfill, StanTech has reviewed our
report ofjobsite activity and our findings are as follows:
April 26, 1999- City of Coppell Inspector, Larry Davis called StanTech Engineering
Co. and requested a StanTech Technician to obtain a sample of
flowable fill on Tuesday April27,1999.
April 27, 1999- StanTech's representative arrived at the jobsite to sample flowable fill
at 2:00 pm. At that time, no flowable fill was being placed. The
contractor informed our Technician that he was expecting a load of
flowable fill anytime. A delivery of cement treated soil arrived shortly
there after and was being placed at an area between Sta. 102+50 to
Sta. 102+85 and to a depth of approximately 7° below grade. This
cement treated material was premixed offsite and was not in a
flowable state at the time of placement. No samples were taken at that
time.
