Also Keith, I drove by Bethel/Denton Tap on the way back. I was looking specifically at the turning bay from northbound Denton Tap to westbound Bethel. It appears there is a light pole in the center of where the turning bay would be pulled back to. Just something to think about. B. Caleb Thornhill, P.E. I think we have the design plans on it somewhere in the files. I can't imagine that it has any historical significance. Caleb - Tony Diaz has been out there. I think the other engineer that looked at it with him is working somewhere else now. We want to be sure to document its historical significance, if any. I know that the bridge that was at the other end of Bethel had a small plaque or designation on it that was historical and gave data on the bridge, but it was destroyed. I hope you don't mind if I ask about this to see if someone will check. I'll pass that along. Keith >>> Caleb Thornhill <bct@freese.com> 6/8/2010 9:00 AM >>> Keith, We didn't find anything historically significant about the Bethel Road bridge. We looked it up in the National Registry of Historic Bridges...there are none in Coppell. Also, we've got several pictures and there doesn't seem to be any monuments or special markings. http://www.bridgehunter.com/tx/dallas/big-map/ http://www.historicbridges.org/info/links.htm B.
