The bridge construction was set at five months and the time started in June 2010. The five months will
expire in October and at that time, one lane east bound will be opened. There is not adequate room to
maintain two lanes of traffic while the project is being constructed. The east bound direction was
selected after consultation with the Fire Department on emergency response routes.
The overall time for the project is nine months so the project should be complete by March 2011.
Also, there are incentives to encourage the contractor to complete the project sooner.
On May 5th, 2010, a letter was sent to the Ivy Cottage and to Mr. Cheek at his home in Coppell that
gave specifics on the bridge closure and time line.
