We have cameras and associated devices. Mel's has been contacted to install one camera for the loop that is being removed. I have not received confirmation but they could do the install tomorrow. The remaining loops should remain usable but it requires an SDLC cable (communications between the video card and controller) that I believe Paradigm can supply and some programming that we have not had the opportunity to utilize before. Keith Higgins with Paradigm has us on his schedule to come out to assist but it will be Friday or Monday. Naztec is playing it safe and recommending a separate rack and power supply but indicated the programming should be simple. I have since spoke with Jackie Jamison who has set aside a SDLC cable at Paradigm for us to pick up ($50). We may be able to get the detection changes going before Friday/Monday but we have to get the cable.   Cut detection puts the detector on constant call that maxes the time (15 sec.) unless limits are set or the loop is turned off and recall used. The loop can be put back into operation after temporary repairs have been made.   Side Note : Mel's is currently working the conduit on Southwestern.   Per >>> Keith Marvin 7/14/2010 2:16 PM >>> Dean, We are going to need to keep the detection operational for this intersection.  Per and our traffic division will assist in keeping this system in operation. I'm in a meeting now, but we can talk about it this afternoon. Johnny has spoken with Paring (sp) and they are checking their inventory, but the situation is that I cannot saw this and jerry rig something up so that the loops stay connected.  As you know, there is going to  be excavation in this area and the loops just need to be installed on recall.  This may inconvenience some people, but it is what has to be done in the mean time until a different solution is brought file://C:\Documents and Settings\radloo\Local Settings\Temp\XPgrpwise\4C3DD9F9City_...8/17/2010 Page 2 of 2 forth. Please help in assisting us in getting this resolved today.  Every day impacts this intersection in reaching ours and Coppell's goal in getting this area opened back up.
