Good morning.
We are preparing a material quotation for the
bidding contractors on this project and have a
few questions.
Their current approved products list (attached)
states "pipe fitting shall be domestic full body.
Compact fittings can only be used with the approval
of the city engineer".
We are presently furnishing the materials for a
water project with them and they are allowing C153
imports. It is our understanding that the fittings
are approved on a job to job basis.
Do you know what will be allowed for this project?
Domestic fittings currently cost fourty percent more
than imports, so to be competitive, we need to know
if imports are acceptable.
Will they accept import valves boxes?
You have specified DR18 PVC water pipe and their
standard specifications have been DR14 for 10" &
smaller. Please advise.
And last but not least, we are trying to match
the meter setters to the existing meter. Do you
know the size of the existing water meters.
